Privacy Policy

Thank you for using ProgressPic (“the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”). Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and the choices you have.

TL;DR

ProgressPic is a local-first app. Your weight logs, body measurements, progress photos, and goals are stored on your device (and, if you enable it, in your private iCloud account).
We do not operate a server that collects or stores your personal data.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
Purchases are processed by Apple, not by us.

1. Information the App Handles

1.1 Information you provide

When you use ProgressPic, you may enter:

Weight entries (value, unit, date)
Body measurements (e.g. waist, chest, arms)
Goal weight and target dates
Progress photos (front / back / side)
Notes attached to entries
Profile information you choose to enter (e.g. height, sex, date of birth, preferred units)

All of the above is stored locally in the App’s private storage on your device using Apple’s Core Data framework.

1.2 iCloud sync (optional, user-controlled)

If you are signed into iCloud on your device and have iCloud Drive enabled, the App may sync your data to your own private iCloud account via Apple’s CloudKit so the data is available across your Apple devices.

This data is stored in your iCloud container, controlled by your Apple ID.
We have no access to it.
You can stop sync at any time from iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.

1.3 Photos

If you grant the App permission to access your photo library or camera, ProgressPic uses those permissions only to:

Let you select or capture a progress photo to attach to an entry.

Photos you attach are stored as part of the entry (locally and, if enabled, in your private iCloud). The App does not upload your photos to any server we operate.

1.4 Notifications

If you enable notifications, the App schedules local reminders (e.g. “log today’s weight”) on your device. These reminders are scheduled locally — no push server is involved.

1.5 Purchases and subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions (e.g. ProgressPic Premium) are handled entirely by Apple’s App Store / StoreKit. We receive a receipt token confirming entitlement status, but we do not receive your payment details, full name, email, or billing address. 1.6 Diagnostics

We do not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the App. If you opt in via iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share anonymous crash reports with us through App Store Connect. These reports do not personally identify you.

2. How Information Is Used

The information described above is used only to:

Provide the App’s core features (logging, measurements, photos, goals, charts, widgets, reminders).
Sync your data across your own Apple devices via your private iCloud (if enabled).
Validate and restore your in-app purchase entitlement.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

We do not sell or share your personal information.

The App may interact with the following Apple-provided services on your behalf, governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy:

iCloud / CloudKit — your own private iCloud container.
App Store / StoreKit — for purchases, subscriptions, and restore.
WidgetKit — to render Home Screen widgets using a copy of your data placed in a private App Group container on your device.

No data is transmitted to servers operated by us.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Because your data is stored on your device (and optionally in your iCloud), you control retention:

Delete individual entries — swipe to delete in the Progress tab.
Delete all app data — delete the App from your device. This removes the local Core Data store and the App Group container used by widgets.
Delete iCloud copy — iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → ProgressPic → Delete Data.

5. Children’s Privacy

ProgressPic is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please delete the App from the device; no data leaves the device through services we operate.

6. Security

Your data is protected by iOS’s standard app sandboxing and file-protection model. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is transmitted and stored using Apple’s CloudKit encryption. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure; however, because we do not operate a backend, your data is never aggregated on a server we control.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA / UK / California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Because ProgressPic stores your data on your device (and optionally in your iCloud), you can exercise these rights directly:

Access / export — your data is available within the App and in your iCloud.
Correct — edit any entry inside the App.
Delete — see Section 4.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Material changes will be highlighted within the App or on this page.
